The Forum

The problem

The Forum building in Norwich is a significant local landmark and a venue for the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, the BBC and numerous events and fesitvals throughout the year.

Opened by the Queen in 2001, the building accomodates 1.8 million visitors a year and is a well-loved feature of the Norwich skyline.

Our challenge was to ensure that the Forum website was as beautiful, functional and accessible as the building itself.

The solution

Working closely with the Forum team we conducted a thorough discovery process to establish a comprehensive understanding of their user and organisational needs.

The Forum, run by The Forum Trust charity, houses a number of important local services and businesses as well as generating revenue from the car park, hiring out its spaces and hosting a number of local festivals.

Given the very public nature of the website, it was essential that we created a highly-accessible, usable platform that served the needs of the buildings many users.

The results

The website now mirrors the iconic building's beauty, functionality, and accessibility. We understood user and organisational needs through a collaborative process, creating a platform that effectively serves The Forum's diverse services and businesses.

The site's success is evident in supporting revenue streams like parking and event hosting while prioritising accessibility and usability, making it an integral online extension of this beloved Norwich landmark.
