Charity partners

Our community impact

At Candour, we are committed to making a positive contribution to our local community. We pledge to work with a chosen charity partner each year to help them to grow by using the enthusiasm and expert skills of our team.

2026

Leeway

We were delighted to kick-off this year with a £10,000 donation to our latest charity of the year partner, Leeway.

Leeway is a specialist domestic abuse charity that has been supporting people across Norfolk and Suffolk for over 40 years. They are a vital lifeline for adults, children, and young people who are experiencing domestic abuse.

We look forward to a year of fundraising and support from the whole Candour team. Please keep an eye on our news page and social media for updates.

2025

Norfolk Clubhouse

In 2025, we chose Norfolk Clubhouse as our charity partner of the year. The partnership was a natural fit for us, as our Head of Search, Tabby Farrar, serves as a trustee for the organisation.

Norfolk Clubhouse is a mental health charity that provides a safe and welcoming community for adults in Norfolk facing mental health challenges. By following the "Clubhouse Model," they offer a supportive environment where members could build confidence and reduce isolation through social groups and wellbeing activities.

Our support for the year included:

  • Initial donation: We kicked off the year in January with a £10,000 donation to help fund their vital services and community hubs.

  • Team fundraising: The Candour team took on several personal challenges to raise extra funds. Hayley Hoggarth raised £520 by completing the Three Peaks Challenge, Jack Chambers-Ward raised £1,400 in a charity MMA bout, and a team-wide walking challenge raised a further £430.

  • Pro bono work: We used our in-house skills to provide support with branding, PR, and marketing strategy, as well as the design and build of a new website (launching soon) to help them better connect with those in need of support.

We were incredibly proud to support a local organisation that provides such a vital lifeline for mental health in our community.

2024

Brave Futures

In 2024 we chose Brave Futures as our charity partner of the year. Brave Futures is a specialist support service for children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse.

Our support included £10,000 used towards funding the Norfolk and Suffolk-wide Education and Outreach project which aims to raise awareness and encourage early prevention.

In October, we were able to make a second donation to Brave Futures, having received an unexpected cash reward from Google’s Bug Bounty programme.

While working on the development of AlsoAsked, the team discovered a vulnerability, allowing us to access a private API endpoint which detailed specific names and values used to rank websites.

After reviewing our exploit submission, Google rated it “high impact” with a “high probability” and after many months of tiresome admin efforts from Mark, the payout was processed.

“Candour's support has enabled us to teach hundreds of children about boundaries and consent. We hope to have been able to further guide people to our services and, importantly, to prevent children from experiencing child sexual abuse.”

2023

The Hamlet Charity

In 2023, we chose The Hamlet as our designated charity.

The Hamlet is dedicated to offering recreational, educational, and social opportunities to individuals of all ages with profound disabilities and complex health needs. They currently support more than 500 families in the local area.

Initially established in 1972, The Hamlet's originated as a toy library. This initiative emerged due to the significantly higher costs of special educational needs (SEN) toys compared to mainstream toys.

Candour donated £10,000 at the beginning of the year – the money provided new LED lighting throughout the centre, helping to reduce bills and maintenance costs for many years to come.

The Candour team also stepped out of the world of websites and into the real world to help redecorate & restore some of The Hamlet's headquarters with a fresh coat of paint.

2022

Break

In 2022 we chose Break as our charity partner of the year.

Break is an incredible local organisation that helps to transform the lives of children and young people in care.

From supporting foster families, to running group homes and providing opportunities and outreach to those leaving care, they help ensure looked after young people get the best possible start in life.

Our support has included pro-bono marketing and design work, a £5000 donation and the provision of new podcasting equipment for the Take A Break podcast.

2021

The Feed

We launched a new, completely pro-bono website for The Feed a local charity and social enterprise that provides training opportunities in catering to those who face a barrier to employment such as homelessness, mental health and addiction issues.

Lucy Parish, General Manager at The Feed, initially contacted Candour for a quote for the design and build of a new website. We looked at how we could approach on a limited budget but quickly decided that we wanted to do more. Charities that help provide opportunities into work resonate strongly with the Candour team. We felt that The Feed were ideal candidates for our charity partner and pledged to design and build their new website as a pro-bono project.

We really enjoyed working with Lucy and her incredible team to refresh their visual identity and create a site that does justice to the vital work they are doing in the community.
