Supporting The Feed’s work in the community when it needs it most

At the beginning of March this year, we announced our charity partnership with The Feed, a charity and social enterprise based here in Norwich.

The Feed does incredible work in empowering people to overcome significant barriers to employment, and Candour had committed to helping them pro bono with their brand strategy and a new website.

Just as we are about to start brand workshops at the end of March, the country went into lockdown, and there was a dramatic impact on The Feed in particular. As an organisation that trains people in person and is supported financially by their city centre cafe and catering business, it soon became apparent that their operations would suffer significant disruption.

Lucy Parish (General Manager) and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that they could continue to support vulnerable people in Norwich in this particularly challenging period.

From keeping up the support to their trainees in any way they could to supplying over 4,000 meals to the homeless in temporary accommodation, The Feed has responded with incredible energy to the new challenges presented by COVID-19.

For a while, this meant that the website project was on the back burner, but we were delighted to welcome Lucy and Georgina 'in' for a remote brand strategy workshop last week. The concurrent use of Zoom, Invision Freehand, Keynote and Google Docs somehow led to an incredibly productive session that has created a fantastic foundation for the next stage of the discovery process where we will be considering the needs of their many user types.

If you want to help secure the long term success of The Feed and ensure that they can continue to support our community as it needs it the most, please consider donating what you can or download their supporters' helpsheet.
