Candour

We’ve hired our first metaverse-only employee!

This (hopefully)obviously was not a thing that happened, it was our 2022 April Fool's. Hope you enjoyed it!

While the Candour team has been slowly expanding over 2021/22, like many agencies we have had to work hard to find the right people.

Since before the pandemic, we offered both flexible and work from home options, and we have further adapted as our newest team members have joined in hybrid and now fully-remote roles.

Today, we're pleased to announce another step forward as we welcome our first ever 'metaverse-based' hire. This is a brand new type of role at Candour that exists only in the metaverse with no requirement to ever come into the office or ever join a Microsoft Teams call.

We've invested over £10,000 in start of the art Valve Index VR equipment to have up to 9 team members in a single metaverse meeting from the office or their home.

Loof has changed his appearance several times between meetings, which was admittedly confusing for some at first, but it’s been great fun.

Mark Williams-Cook, Director

We‘d like to take this opportunity to give a warm welcome to "Loof", as he is known in the metaverse, who joins us from his home in Germany.

Having a stateless medium of communication is a great way to tackle unconscious bias in the workplace. I think it’s an exciting opportunity for employers to be able to access and hire talented people that they’ve never seen or met before.

Loof has already made an impact on the team by designing and minting exclusive “Candour Badge” NFTs which he gifted to the team on his first day via the first metaverse meeting.

We’re excited about being earlier adopters of this new technology, it really removes a lot of barriers – except internet. You must have fast internet.
